BactiCid NG Featured in MEAP Magazine

Our latest publication in the recent edition of the renowned magazine MEAP (Poultry Middle East & North Africa) highlights BactiCid®NG, our next-generation feed additive designed to optimize gut health and performance in poultry.

As global poultry production continues transitioning away from antibiotic growth promoters (AGPs), maintaining gut health has become central to sustaining performance, welfare, and production efficiency. “In antibiotic-free systems, producers face increasing pressure to protect intestinal integrity while responding to growing concerns surrounding antimicrobial resistance (AMR)”, Daher writes.

BactiCid®NG was developed to meet this challenge:

The formulation combines tributyrin, a stable triglyceride form of butyric acid known to support intestinal development and digestive efficiency, with carefully selected essential oils (carvacrol, thymol, and cinnamaldehyde), recognized for their antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties.

However, ingredient selection alone is not enough. Up to 70–90% of unprotected essential oils may degrade before reaching the lower intestine. That is why BactiCid®NG is powered by UtriCAPS®, UTRIX’s cold spray-dried microencapsulation technology. This innovation protects active ingredients during feed processing and storage, ensuring controlled and targeted release in the intestinal tract, where they are most needed.

The result is a synergistic solution that supports epithelial integrity, microbial balance, nutrient absorption, and consistent performance outcomes in modern poultry systems.
